VH-1 will be airing a five hour marathon of the series this Saturday starting at 5 PM Eastern, including the pulled fifth episode that never saw air on CBS. "Armed & Famous" followed the exploits of several celebrities, including former WWE Womens champion Stratus as they trained and worked as Muncie, Indiana police officers. The series had strong ratings for its debut, then fell into a quick downturn before the competition of American Idol put the nail in its coffin. There were scheduled to be two additional episodes, so it's likely they will eventually air on VH-1 as well. BAM BAM BIGELOW REMEMBERED, TRISH STRATUS' REALITY SERIES CAUSES LOCAL CONTROVERSY, WRESTLEMANIA 23 THEME SONG & MOREThe Journal and Courier in Indiana noted today that the widow of slain police offer Greg Winters was upset that he was referred to on the CBS reality series Armed & Famous today. Molly Winters, Temple's widow, was angry that the series referred to Temple as someone who "screwed up and missed a handgun" which led to his death, when trial testimony revealed it was another officer at fault. In the episode, police training officer Kyle Temple takes former WWE Women's champion Trish Stratus to Winters' memorial. Temple told the newspaper he drove Stratus to the memorial because, "he didn't believe the former pro wrestler understood how dangerous Muncie could be and blamed himself for not warning the Winters family about the reference." John Williams sent the following....I don't know if this the first run of the show, but on Tuesday January 16, Trish Stratus will be on MTV Diary on MTV Canada. I don't know if this will be on in the US since most of the MTV Diaries on Canadian "Celebrities" are pretty D-List stars and would never be shown there, but Trish may be an exception. Anyways, from the commercial, it looks like the episode will be chronicling her wedding, and I believe I saw Molly Holly and Ivory in the commercial. Eric Lauzlin sent the following funny note....I'm watching WWE 24/7's Legends Roundtable. Michael Hayes was telling a story about the first time The Fabulous Freebirds came out to entrance music. Hayes said we came out to "Freebird" and Jim Ross, being the good host that he is, said "Lynyrd Skynyrd's Freebird". Hayes said, "Why do you keep correcting me?" and Ross responded that not everyone knows who Skynrd is. Dusty Rhodes jumped in and said, "Who doesn't know Skynrd?" Ross responded, "Anyone born after the 1980s." Dusty responded, "Oh, you mean the writing staff." Latest On Trish Stratus, WWE Upset Over RAW, MoreFormer WWE diva Trish Stratus made an appearance on ET Canada last night to plug her new cover photos and spread in the Spring/Summer issue of Today’s ride. Wrestling is briefly mentioned as the article notes that some wrestling fans showed up when she was being sworn in as a law enforcement officer the fans told her that they missed seeing her on WWE television. WWE officials were expecting to get a lot of mainstream press for Monday’s RAW, however, that did not happen. The only mainstream sources that mentioned the Rosie/Donald angle were the Howard Stern Show and the Access Hollywood website. This morning on Stern, Robin Quivers said, "How can anybody watch this?" while Artie Lang said, "It's the same audience that saw the Larry the Cable Guy's movie. Unfortunately, it's a big audience." They cut away right away as Howard said, "I just can't even get through the clips. We can confirm that WWE will release a new DX DVD next month, featuring all of their new material.
