Lohan and Franco both attended Prince's Golden Globes afterparty at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (which was also the supposed site of the Justin Timberlake/Cameron Diaz spat and the alleged Drew Barrymore/Bruce Willis hookup). Lohan and Franco, who first met at the premiere of A Prairie Home Companion in June, recently filmed a cameo together for Diaz's rom-com, The Holiday. "Most people were in a good mood — except for her," a source tells the Daily News. "She seemed lost. She was trying to get James' attention, and he wouldn't give her anything. She was smoking a lot, not drinking in front of him, and then she went into a bedroom. From there, she went back to trying to get James' attention again, and he was ignoring her. She ran out crying, with the girlfriend following her." Lohan was then found passed out in a hotel hallway around 6 a.m., reports the Daily News. Franco, who is currently in a serious relationship, recently refused an expensive watch that Lohan tried to give him. In the statement released, Lohan said "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health." "I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time." Lohan confirmed last month that she had been attending alcoholics anonymous (AA) meetings. Lohan's spokesperson did not confirm what the movie star is being treated for, and where the location of her treatment is.

After months of stories about her party girl ways and rumors that she was attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, Lindsay Lohan has checked into rehab, as confirmed by E Online. She released a statement through her publicist Leslie Sloan Zelnick - "I have made a proactive decision to take care of my personal health. I appreciate your well wishes and ask that you please respect my privacy at this time."

Of course, who is the first person to speak out about it and not necessarily "respect her privacy"? Her mother, Dina Lohan, who was also the first person to tell the world that her daughter was attending AA meetings. She told Star magazine how proud she is of her daughter's decision - "She's really in a good place right now, spiritually and mentally. She's in an amazing, phenomenal place. She's 20 and she's solid, and she's doing what she needs to do. I don't know that many people who are that secure. It's all about her, and getting back on track. She's fine - she's amazingly fine."

At the end of 2006, Lindsay Lohan brushed off reports of alcoholism, telling People that she hadn't had a drink in a while - "I haven't had a drink in seven days. Or anything. I'm not even legal to, so why would I? I don't drink when I go to clubs. I drink with my friends at home, but there's no need to. I feel better not drinking. It's more fun. I have Red Bull."

Lohan had her appendix removed earlier this year and, according to Playfuls.com, doctors noticed at the time that her kidneys were seriously damaged due to alcohol excess. A doctor also told The Enquirer, "Lindsay's liver panel shows her drinking is taking a terrible toll on her health. Her liver enzymes are extremely elevated, and doctors warned her if she doesn't quit boozing she could die."

Lindsay Lohan was most recently seen in Bobby and the 20 year-old's turn in Chapter 27 will premiere at Sundance next week. After that, she'll definitely be seen in Garry Marshall's Georgia Rule, a film that provoked controversy after a letter from the producer to Lohan about her partying ways leaked to the internet. After that, who knows? IMDB lists five credits in various stages of production, but with Lohan going into rehab they could all get delayed or she could be replaced. Only time will tell.
