Jessica Simpson & John Mayer to Come Out at the Grammys

They have been spotted all over Florida. They are photographed at lunch, getting on the Mayer tour bus and basically out and about everywhere. So why is it so hard to believe that John Mayer and Jessica Simpson are an item? I'm not certain, but a report claims that the official coming out party for the couple will be on February 11 at the Grammy Awards.

According to a report from Star Magazine, the couple will to their recent and very public, week-long lovefest in Florida, where John was touring on nationwide television in high-definition. Citing a source the weekly entertainment magazine claims that Miss Simpson will accompany Mr. Mayer to the Grammy Awards. The event will take placeat the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and live on CBS broadcast TV. "For once in John's life, he's going public with his love life because he thinks Jess is it!" says a source. Earlier report shave stated that Jessica was loving life and putting on quite the show at a concert over the weekend. *** Will a joint appearance at music's biggest night quiet the critics? Jessica Simpson: 'A Public Affair'

It's been quite a while since Jessica Simpson has been written about for anything other than her acrimonious split with fellow singer Nick Lachey, but it's clear Simpson either hopes this will either get people to move on from talking about the break up, or that the ongoing publicity from the break up will instead boost the sales of this rather mediocre single.

Simpson's pop is pretty bland, and particularly so on 'A Public Affair', which styles itself as a party anthem, but which is in reality only a party anthem as propagated on dreadful compilation albums that get listened to once and then put away. It's light on substance and whilst the vocal is pretty cute, the song itself is pure fluff, and not a patch on sister Ashlee's previous attempts.

Nick Lachey has been very solid with the gorgeous Vanessa Minnillo for some time. There are even reports of marriage talk for the couple but nothing is yet official. Many fans worried that Jessica Simpson was never going to fin a guy that she could count on to be there with her through all the times. Is that guy guitar master John Mayer? Fans certainly hope so.

Still there are loads of critics of the relationship. TMZ reported earlier that the New York Post pondered if Jessica Simpson and John Mayer may be one of Hollywood's hottest new couples for the cameras, but could it all be a big Simpson ruse to get back at ex-hubby Nick Lachey? The AOL Entertainment web site reported that at Nobu in Miami in Tuesday night, the pair "barely spoke" to each other, reports Page Six, and John "was extremely quiet and didn't speak a lot." Jessica, as is her wont, engaged in "a lot of puppy-dog looks and twirled and twisted her hair." Sure, they were seen holding hands, but Simpson then left John all alone for 20 minutes at the table to get herself primped for cameras waiting outside. *** Still Jess has her supporters. Yes, no matter what Page Six tells me, I will wick off rumored unhappiness until they officially break up.
