Jennifer Aniston is set to adopt a baby, it has been claimed. The former 'Friends' star has reportedly been considering adoption for some time and has instructed her lawyers to approach several different adoption agencies in Los Angeles on her behalf after splitting from boyfriend Vince Vaughn late last year. A source told Britain's Grazia magazine: "Jen has thrown herself into adopting and wants it to happen straight away. She toyed with the idea while she was with Vince but began looking in December after they split." However, Jennifer - the ex-wife of Brad Pitt - has decided not to follow the current celebrity trend of adopting a child from abroad. The source added: "She turned to friends for advice, including Oprah Winfrey, who advised her to adopt an African child, but she has settled on an American baby." Courteney Cox plays Lucy Spiller, a ruthless editor for two tabloid magazines, and Aniston will appear as the editor of a rival publication. Dirt, FX's newest one-hour drama, examines the relationship between the entertainment industry and the tabloid magazines, which stars Cox along with Ian Hart, Donnie Fuller, Will McCormack and Alex Breckenridge. Dirt not only stars Courteney Cox, but is also producer by the former Friends star, along with her husband, David Arquette and Matthew Carnahan. The casting of Jennifer Aniston for the season finale of Dirt will mark the first time Aniston and Cox have worked together since Friends ended in 2004. Dirt is Courteney Cox's highest-profile project since the end of the NBC sitcom, though Cox has also done film work on the independent movie November and Adam Sandler's The Longest Yard, as well as voice work on the animated feature, Barnyard. Jennifer Aniston has had an active film career since leaving Friends, with her accolades including Along Came Polly, Derailed, Rumor Has It, Friends With Money and The Break-Up, in which she starred alongside rumored boyfriend Vince Vaughn. Aniston is also set to co-direct a short film, Room 10, which will star Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson. The season finale of Dirt will air on March 27 on the FX Network, and though it seems like a no-brainer for Courteney Cox to land Jennifer Aniston on a show that Cox both stars in and produces, it has taken some work to find the right role for Aniston. Friends of Jennifer, 37, believe she has started sleepwalking because of stress in her personal life. The star split from boyfriend Vince Vaughn - who she met while filming The Break-Up - in December and pals claim she previously started wandering in her sleep when her marriage to ex-husband Brad Pitt started to disintegrate. One pal is quoted by The Sun as saying: "She had the same problems when things started going wrong during her marriage to Brad. "One time he freaked out because she disappeared for an hour-and-a-half."
