Evangeline Lilly May Quit “Lost”Los Angeles (eCanadaNow) - Evangeline Lilly is reportedly considering quitting ‘Lost’ in the wake of the fire that destroyed her home. The actress, who plays sexy fugitive Kate on the hit show, was left devastated after the property she rented with two of the programme’s crew members in Hawaii was burnt to the ground before Christmas. Lilly - who is dating her ‘Lost’ co-star Dominic Monaghan - now believes the fire could be a sign that she needs to move on and do something else. A source said: “Evangeline was badly shaken by the experience. She’s taken it as some sort of sign that she should leave and move on to other projects. In fact, if it wasn’t for Dominic, she may well have already quit.” Earlier this week, Lilly hinted she will quit ‘Lost’ unless the show’s fans stop hassling her. The actress says she is growing weary of the constant attention she receives from followers of the programme and admits she sometimes considers walking away from the series. Lilly said: “I am an incredibly private person, and it’s so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. A news site in the UK recently reported that Lilly was “threatening” to quit the show if her fans don’t back off. Though Lilly did say she wouldn’t mind spending some time somewhere remote where they don’t have the show ‘Lost,’ nothing else that the site quoted indicates that Lilly is planning on leaving the show. UK’s Life Style Extra reported that the actress was growing weary of her fame. The site quoted Lilly as saying, "I am an incredibly private person, and it's so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. If I could act and make the income I make and be anonymous, I would never want to leave the job." While it is evident that she misses the privacy she had prior to ‘Lost,’ it seems like a bit of a stretch to interpret her comment as some kind of threat or even a hint that’s going to quit ‘Lost’ if her fans don’t leave her alone. LSE did say, she “admits she sometimes considers walking away from her role” though the direct quote of Lilly saying this wasn’t cited. Lilly plays the lead female character, Kate in ‘Lost.’ Though there are other female supporting characters in the show, this season has spent more time focusing on her character than any other female in the show. The writers have been known to kill off certain characters with very little build-up but there has been no indication that Lilly’s character will be written off anytime soon. Lilly, who is dating her 'Lost' co-star Dominic Monaghan, said: "I am an incredibly private person, and it's so exhausting to me that everywhere I go people know me or think they know me. If I could act and make the income I make and be anonymous, I would never want to leave the job." This is not the first time Lilly has complained about her fame. She previously admitted she would like to go on holiday to a remote island where no one would recognize her because she is so sick of being hounded by fans and the media wherever she goes.
