The National Restaurant Association is flipping out over Kevin Federline flipping burgers, Reuters reports. The restaurant organization is demanding that Nationwide Insurance yank an ad — slated to air during the Super Bowl — that features K-Fed as a failed rap star who is instead working in the fast-food industry. "An ad such as this would be a strong and a direct insult to the 12.8 million Americans who work in the restaurant industry," NRA Chief Executive Steven Anderson told the outlet. A Nationwide spokesperson said the ad was designed to be entertaining and that it reflects the company's goal of meeting the insurance needs of its consumers.

Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo and producer Dallas Austin are converging for the "How I Wrote That Song" panel discussion, to be held February 10 in Los Angeles. The event, held in celebration of Grammy week, will be hosted by BMI and feature performances of hit songs by the panelists, followed by a Q&A on music, the business and songwriting. Kara DioGuardi, Butch Walker and Jeffrey Steele are also participating.

Bono will be honored at the 38th annual NAACP Image Awards with the Chairman's Award. The U2 frontman "has been an inspiration to many people around the world through his music and humanitarian efforts," NAACP Chairman Julian Bond said in a statement. Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, "Dreamgirls" and "Everybody Hates Chris" lead the nominees for the Image Awards, which will air March 2 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

Jamie Foxx is teaming up with Sirius Satellite Radio to launch the Foxxhole, a comedy station featuring the actor/singer as both executive producer and on-air host. Foxx said in a statement that he expects the radio network, which will launch in the spring, to "break new ground in comedy, blurring the lines between stand-up, sketch and music."

Beyonce snubbed beyond belief

It was a bad day for Beyonce. The Dreamgirls star didn't get the best-actress nomination she'd campaigned for. And though she's credited in the soundtrack as one of four writers of the song Listen, only three got named in the nomination for best original song. (Three is the limit, according to Academy rules). Guess who got frozen out? Having come up empty, we wonder if Beyonce and boyfriend Jay-Z will show up just to support the side? THE LATE, LATE SHOW: Other than Little Miss Sunshine (which was mostly seen on DVD anyway), pretty much everything was released within the past month or so. As Academy members age and their short-term memories get even worse, that might get shaved to a week. FUN WITH NUMBERS: The box-office gross of The Departed so far is about $122 million US. The combined box-office gross of the other four best-picture nominees is about $122 million. Given the Academy's track record with broad-appeal movies, this does not bode well for Martin Scorsese.

GOOD GRIEF: One nomination each for The Good German (original score) and The Good Shepherd (art direction), and none for The Good German Shepherd. HELLO, NNNNEWMAN: Three of the five best original song nominees were from Dreamgirls. That doesn't say much for the rest of the songs we had to listen to this year. And is it a rule that Randy Newman gets a nomination if he so much as tunes his piano? THE DEAL WITH CLINT'S FLICKS: FYI, for those who are wondering why Letters From Iwo Jima (which is almost entirely in Japanese) is not nominated for best foreign-language film, American-produced films are ineligible in that category. Films nominated for both best picture and foreign language have included Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Life is Beautiful, The Emigrants and Z. COOLEST NOMINATION: That goes to Jackie Earle Haley for best supporting actor in Little Children. The kid from The Bad News Bears and Breaking Away hadn't worked in movies since 1993 before being offered All the King's Men and Little Children. The "washed-up" ex-child star had worked as a security guard and pizza-delivery guy. Hollywood can't write stories like this anymore. GET ANIMATED ABOUT THIS: Remember old-school 2-D animation, such as The Lion King? It's now three years since one was even nominated (two actually, The Triplets of Belleville and Brother Bear both lost in 2004 to the CGI hit Finding Nemo). Maybe The Simpsons Movie will change that next year. MOST HEAD-SCRATCHING NOM: Click, for achievement in makeup. What, for applying Grecian Formula to Adam Sandler's hair? THANKS FOR NOTICING: Half-Nelson, for which Canadian boy Ryan Gosling got a surprising but deserved best-actor nom, is this year's Junebug - a film nobody saw but somehow it got noticed. OVERLOOKED: The best movies to be all-but-ignored were United 93 (best director, editing) and Children of Men (adapted screenplay, cinematography, editing). BEST ACTOR NOT NOMINATED: Ken Watanabe. With best picture, director and screenplay noms, Letters From Iwo Jima is apparently one of those great movies that did it without actors.

Beyonce "loves" Shakira

Beyonce has admitted she's "always loved" Shakira, after the pair recorded a duet together.

The pop superstar, who's new film "Dreamgirls" was nominated for three Best Song Oscars yesterday, plans to reissue her current album, "B'Day", shortly.

Amongst the new material featuring on the release will be "Beautiful Liar", a collaboration between the former Destiny's Child icon and her Colombian counterpart.

"I've always loved her and I've always wanted to work with her, and the song fits perfectly," explained Beyonce, before speaking about the duet.

"It basically talks about two women; the same guy is trying to get at both of them but instead of them fighting, they're saying 'He's a beautiful liar, let's not fight, let's stick together - forget him!'

"I think it's a great concept", Beyonce told MTV. There is currently no release date for the expanded version of "B'Day".

Beyonce Knowles And Shakira Are Doing It For Themselves

Beyonce Knowles has lavished praise on Colombian pop sensation Shakira, insisting she is the perfect singer to join her on female empowerment duet Beautiful Liar. Knowles was thrilled to record the song with pop peer Shakira - which features on the reissue of the Crazy In Love singer's solo album B'Day - and is immensely proud of the song's lyrics, which tell the story of two women who pull together to reject the advances of a dishonest lover.

She tells Mtv, "I've always loved her and I've always wanted to work with her, and the song fits perfectly. It basically talks about two women - the same guy is trying to get at both of them but instead of them fighting, they're saying, 'He's a beautiful liar, let's not fight, let's stick together. Forget him!' I think it's a great concept." (c) WENN

Beyonce and Shakira Team up for a ‘Beautiful Liar’

Two of music’s hottest hip-shakers, Beyoncé and Shakira, are joining sexy forces to create new collaborative track “Beautiful Liar.” The dream girl says the decision to work with her Latina counterpart was an easy one as she’s always been a fan of Shakira’s music. “I’ve always loved her and I’ve always wanted to work with her and the song fits perfectly," Beyoncé tells MTV. “It basically talks about two women; the same guy is trying to get at both of them but instead of them fighting, they’re saying, ‘He’s a beautiful liar, let’s not fight, let’s stick together – forget him!’ I think it’s a great concept." The saucy track — which is not a remake of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy is Mine” despite its obvious similarity — will be available on a money-grabbing special-edition reissue of Beyoncé’s latest solo effort, the embarrassingly titled B’Day. The new version of the album will also come with a DVD featuring five new videos, which may or may not be filled with the diva’s signature epilepsy-inspired dance numbers, erratic flaying and distressing Jay-z grinding. “I’m doing five new videos, so I’ll have a video for every song and I’m actually starting on those videos [this week] and doing them all in seven days which is really crazy,” Beyoncé tells MTV. “I think it’s a great concept because people can see my interpretations of the songs when they were written." Keep your fingers crossed that Beyoncé’s interpretations of the tunes includes more images of her holding alligators on leashes while wearing ridiculous stilettos and a hot bathing suit.

Beyonce Disqualified in Bid for Best Song Academy Award for "Listen"

"Listen" from the movie Dreamgirls could win an Academy Award for Best Song this spring, but the name of Beyonce Knowles, the singer and one of the songwriters, won't be in the record book, and she won't receive a gold statue. In an attempt to limit the number of Oscars given out on awards night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ratified new rules in 2005 that will not allow more than 3 individuals to receive awards for writing a single winning song. Unfortunately for Beyonce, "Listen," widely expected to be nominated, has 4 songwriters and the awards' executive committee determined she contributed the least to the writing of the song of the 4 listed. If "Listen" receives a nomination, the names of Henry Krieger, Scott Cutler, and Anne Preven will be listed as the worthy trio, but not Beyonce. This all means that if Beyonce is to win an Academy Award in 2007, she will have to do it on the strength of her acting...and most likely beat out Helen Mirren and Meryl Streep for the victory. Um... there's always the Grammy Awards (Beyonce already owns 6 of those)...and, as a consolation, she is nominated for the award for Best Song, along with her 3 co-songwriters, at the Golden Globes.
