It seems Hollywood actresses will stop at nothing to look their best.

So it should come as no surprise to learn that Angelina Jolie and her five-year-old son Maddox spent
more than $700 (£356) on Friday - just to take a shower at a posh hotel.

Angie, 31, and her son made a stop at Shutters On The Beach Hotel in Santa Monica, California so they
could shower and freshen up.

A source tells American magazine Star: 'Angelina said they only wanted the room for two hours - time
enough for them both to take a shower.

'She was very sweet and seemed like a concerned mum. It was just very bizarre, when she and Brad Pitt
own two house here in Los Angeles, that she would need to spend that kind of money on a hotel room
just so she and Maddox could shower.'

The Jolie-Pitts have recently moved their family to New Orleans, Louisiana, where Brad is currently
filming The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

Rumor du Jour: Angelina Jolie's $700 Hotel Shower

According to ever-reliable Star Magazine, Angelina Jolie is a very special kind of Super World Traveler...a teleporting one. Despite People's reports that Angie spent at least Friday in Vietnam, Star put her in Santa Monica with son Maddox that morning. Yeah, we know about the date line, but this one's not happening.

Star claims that a "source" spotted Ms. Jolie and her son at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica (the hotel's celebrity fans include Britney Spears) on Friday morning. She supposedly plunked down $700--a nightly rate--for a 2 hour stay she wanted to use just for freshening up.

That's a standard Shutters bathroom above--you can take a full Flash tour on their website. Shutters pushes its amenities--everything from the bathrobe to the shampoo--pretty hard on its page, so you can purchase the same stuff celebrities have used according to sources, perhaps or perhaps not during a $700, 2 hour stay. And to think we've ever balked at a sub-$700 late check out fee. How pedestrian!

Brad Pitt Envies Leonardo DiCaprio, Angelina Jolie Hates Hugs

Brad Pitt is jealous of Leonardo DiCaprio. The 'Babel' actor feels Leonardo - who has been nominated
for an Academy Award for his performance in thriller 'Blood Diamond' - has made better choices about
the characters he has played.
Brad told Newsweek magazine: "I caught myself on the phone the other day. Leo has been playing some
real strong men these last few years and I found myself saying, 'I want to play more of a man.'"
Despite his resentment, Brad believes his best roles are yet to come. He said: "I got off the phone and I
thought, 'No, live like a man, and the movies will follow.'"
Leonardo - whose acclaimed films include 'The Departed', 'The Aviator' and 'Gangs of New York' - paid
tribute to his colleagues and fellow nominees after receiving an Oscar nomination for Best Actor

He said: "I'm honoured to receive this nomination from the Academy - especially in a year full of such
worthy nominees. I am also thrilled for my 'Blood Diamond' co-star Djimon Hounsou, as well as Mark

Djimon Hounsou and Mark Wahlberg have been nominated in Best Supporting Actor category, while
Martin Scorsese is up for the Best Director award for 'The Departed'.
Meanwhile it has been reported that Angelina Jolie isn't a fan of hugs. 'The Good Shepherd' actress
revealed she finds it difficult to talk about her emotions and finds hugging people particularly
uncomfortable.
Angelina said: "I'm not a hugger. People make fun of me. It's something that I have a hard time with.
"If someone hugs me, I hold my breath. Snuggling, cuddling, hugging, crying - all that stuff makes me
very uncomfortable"

Angelina Jolie, was spotted picking up son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 5 1/2, from the new school that he has been enrolled in, in New Orleans. The family, including dad, Brad Pitt, and sisters, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 8 months, have bought a house to stay in for at least the time that Brad is filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
