Alyson HanniganThe Donald predicts: Patriots trump ColtsThe New England Patriots [team stats] really are America’s team - out in Tinseltown, Tom Brady [stats] & Co. have a few famous fans pulling for them to rein in the Indianapolis Colts tonight. “Late Show” host Conan O’Brien, naturally, is rooting for his hometown team to head to Super Bowl XLI. “But getting by the Colts, it’s not going to be easy,” the Brookline homey told TV critics gathered in Pasadena, Calif., the other day. “The team has amazing offense. “It’s going to be a tough game, but (Bill) Belichick and (Tom) Brady - they seem to get it down,” he said. Conan said he and his brother, who was visiting his famous sib in the Apple, were glued to the tube last weekend when the Pats did the Lights Out thing on the San Diego Chargers. “I was very excited about that,” he said. Donald Trump will be rooting for Brady & Co. - even if the the game sacks his struggling “The Apprentice” in the ratings. “Tom didn’t have one of his good games (last week),” The Donald told the Track. “But in the last 10 minutes, as usual, he was flawless. So it’s going to be a tough game. I think it’s going to be a very tough game. But I think probably the Patriots will win.” “Criminal Minds” hunk Shemar Moore, whose family is from Boston, is very excited that his show will air after Super Bowl XLI on CBS. And he’s hoping his lead-in will be the Patriots and the Chicago Bears. “My boss is from Chicago, (‘Minds’ executive producer Ed Bernero),” Shemar said. “But you know, I like the Bears, the Ditka days. My wish is for the Bears-Patriots. My family is from Boston so I’ve got to root for them, too.” Moore’s co-star, Paget Brewster, comes from Concord but says she just did a movie in New Orleans and is feeling the city’s pain. So if the Super Bowl comes down to the Pats and the Saints “it’s going to be a tough call.” “But I’m from New England so I have to root for the Patriots,” she said. Jason Segel, who is Alyson Hannigan’s guy on “How I Met Your Mother,” grew up in L.A., but his whole family is from Boston. “My brother lives there so I’m a Red Sox [team stats] and Patriots fan by default,” said Segel, whose grandfather, Sid Segel, founded Mr. Sid, the men’s clothing store in Newton. “I think the Patriots will do it this weekend.”
