Variety reports that she’s been cast to star in the new Morgan Creek movie Sydney White and the Seven Dorks. She finds herself living with seven outcasts whom she tries to transform into cooler members of the school’s social system. I hated this movie the first time when it was called Van Wilder 2. This can’t possibly be worse. Amanda has just finished working on a much bigger project, the new movie musical version of Hairspray. She plays Penny Pingleton. The last place you saw her in theaters was cross-dressing in the 2006 teen smash She’s the Man.
